The court ordered ASUU to stop the strike

The National Labor Court has ordered the university teachers’ union to call off its strike.

Presenting a judgment on the interim request requested by the federal government, Justice Polycarp Hamman prevented the ASUU union from continuing the strike until the time of judgment on the case.

At the beginning of this month, the government sued ASUU in court over the seven-month strike.

Judge Polycap Hamman, who is a judge who hears shari’ah when the court is on vacation, also sent the case to the head of the labor court to give this shari’ah to another judge.

The Ministry of Labor of the country said that the government took action after talks with the university teachers union failed.

In its first session, the court headed by Judge Polycarp Hamman adjourned the hearing of the case until today Wednesday after hearing information from the plaintiffs and the defendants.

The federal government wants the court to declare whether or not the ASUU strike is illegal.
