Over 13,823 Youths in Plateau to Benefit from Npower Batch C – FG
Sadiya Farouq, Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management, and Social Development, said the federal government’s National Social Investment Programme (NSIP) will provide work for 13,823 Plateau youths.
Mrs. Farouq announced the training and presentation of starter packets to the N-Skills program’s recipients in Jos on Tuesday.
The minister, who was represented at the ceremony by Ladan Haruna, the Ministry’s Director of Administration, stated that the employment would be created through the NSIP’s Batch C of the N-Power initiative.
She stated that the development came as a result of President Muhammadu Buhari’s acceptance of the N-Power program’s expansion to accommodate additional youngsters.
Mrs. Farouq said the federal government had spent N4.9 billion on training, tooling, and monthly stipends for NSIP Batch C beneficiaries across the country, adding that the massive direct injection of resources at the grassroots and in the hands of the youngsters was a game-changer.
She noted that the N-Power initiative would improve the states’ ability to provide much-needed services in the education, health, and agriculture sectors, as well as engage beneficiaries in income-generating activities that would help local economic growth.
Governor Simon Lalong was praised by the minister for supporting Buhari’s goal of raising 100 million Nigerians out of poverty.
